Genealogy of Bassac is the story of the White Building’s conception, inhabitation, abandonment, rehabilitation, eviction and demolition in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 1963 to 2017.

Lu Ban Hap and the White Building: A chronicle of hope and destruction, interweaves the life of the Cambodian architect Lu Ban Hap with the history of his most prominent building to point out the many influences to which both the architect and the country were exposed in the 1960s, ultimately leading to such an extraordinary structure.
