I am a Berlin-based architect, curator and author. As a practicing architect, I currently work for Hütten & Paläste, a Berlin office known for the adaptive reuse of buildings and spaces, the reuse of materials, and a commitment to the common good. In my curatorial and editorial work, I focus on postcolonial modernist architecture in Southeast Asia – buildings that never entered the global architectural canon. I develop exhibitions, publications and symposia, often in collaboration with partners in the region. In 2018, I co-founded Encounters with Southeast Asian Modernism, a transdisciplinary forum for exploring postcolonial modern architecture and contemporary urban development in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on the multifaceted links between Germany and the region.
